Certain publication methods may require the author to pay a fee for publication. Please review the Authors' Guide of your selected journal for information regarding possible fees and publication policies before submitting a manuscript for publication.

Free to Publish in Journals

Free to Publish In Journals

Cureus - The Flagship Channel is the State of Florida's College of Medicines open access journal. Authors must select the Flagship channel and the university which they are affiliated with when submitting an article.

BMJ Case Reports - Authors must be affiliated with UCF and should contact the library for instructions. For additional journals that accept case reports and are free see Part 2.1 of this guide. BMJ offers an open access option but this is not covered by UCF.

The following journals are free to publish in open access journals. Authors are not charged article processing fees when publishing in these journals through a "Publish and Read" agreement provided by the University of Central Florida Libraries. 

Portland Press Publish and Read Journals: Articles authored by researchers from multiple institutions including UCF are covered so long as it is the UCF corresponding author who submits the article. A UCF author needs to be named as a corresponding author on the paper but does not need to be the primary investigator.
