CDC Vital Records 

Hospital Utilization 

  • U.S. Department of Health & Human Services data by state or facility, includes ICU beds and in patient bed usage. Present as a dashboard.

Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS)

MEPS data includes Americans use and pay for medical care, health insurance, and out-of-pocket spending. Annual surveys provide data on health status, the use of medical services, charges, insurance coverage, and satisfaction with care.

The Council of State Governments: States Perform

Comparative performance measurement data for 50 states, easy to use interface, covers:

Children: Infant mortality (per 1,000 live births), low birthweight rates, teen birth rate, children in poverty, childhood obesity, child fatality rate due to abuse and neglect, percent of 2-year-olds who were immunized

Adults: adult smokers, adult population overweight, aged 65+ who have had a flu shot within the past year or who have ever had a pneumonia vaccination, Chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, AIDS infection rate, per 100,000 population
